Iain Tait

Global Interactive Executive Creative Director, Wieden+Kennedy

Iain Tait joined Wieden+Kennedy as Global Interactive Executive Creative Director in April 2010. He is working hard to figure out what that actually means in practice, but in the meantime he is working with the global network and the agency's key clients to continue to evolve W+K’s creative product and process, making sure that the opportunities provided by new technology are at the forefront of the agency’s offering.

Iain is excited by what happens when you combine great storytelling with the power and connectivity of the digital world. The Old Spice “Response” campaign hints at what can happen when those two worlds collide.

Prior to joining W+K, he was a founder and creative director of Poke, a digital creative agency with offices in London and New York. Iain worked on advertising and design projects for a range of clients such as American Express, Orange, Yahoo! and Zopa.

Iain’s work has been awarded by lots of industry bodies including D&AD, One Show, Cannes Lions, the Clio Awards, Art Directors Club of New York and Creative Circle. He has also been lucky enough to judge many award shows, including Jury Chair for One Show Interactive, D&AD and London International Advertising Awards. But nothing makes him happier than when ordinary human beings enjoy using and interacting with things that he is been involved with.

New Media Age magazine named him the most influential person in new media in the UK in 2009. He is also included in the 2010 and 2011 Creativity 50, Ad Age's 25 Media Mavens and Fortune magazine's 2010 40 Under 40. He is also a member of the World Economic Forum Council on the Future of Entertainment.

Iain has a degree in psychology from the University of Edinburgh and has always been fascinated and motivated by the ever-evolving relationship between people and technology.

Iain lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and twin toddlers. Which makes him incredibly proud and terrified in equal measure.
