The Code is dentsu’s own program for students aged 13-19, designed to open the doors of our industry to the next generation of diverse talent, equipping them with the skills to thrive in the digital economy through immersive workshops, competitions, work experience opportunities, apprenticeships and early career opportunities. Founded in the UK in 2017, The Code has launched in 13 markets and over 22,000 students have come through the program.
In the US since 2018, 1,171 students have participated. In 2020 we were able to actually strengthen the program’s impact with our pivot to virtual resulting in a 28% increase in students, tangibly addressing virtual learning needs. We have scaled and diversified impact through new partnerships, including school districts and clients.
Our objective is to challenge the way the industry recruits and give the next generation of talent the skills they need to thrive in the digital economy.
87% of our US program participants are multicultural and 58% are women.
