Senior Manager of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Job Description

The American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) Mosaic Center’s Senior Manager of Diversity Equity and Inclusion will lead all efforts to achieve DEI strategies and programs within the AAF.  You will accomplish this by working with the VP of the Mosaic Center & Education Services, the Mosaic Council, and the Mosaic Next Generation Leadership Council to shape and lead the AAF’s DEI efforts. These initiatives focus on Recruitment, Recognition and Thought Leadership, providing resources to AAF corporate members and partners.  This includes all human capital practices associated with education, the workforce, culture, and corporate social responsibility.

Program Management: You will oversee the implementation and management of existing Mosaic Center programming, as well as develop new programming.  The Senior Manager will create program timelines, budgets, marketing strategies and manage database.  You will be responsible for all Mosaic Center program logistics, consisting of (but, not limited to) content development, timely program communication, award submissions and judging coordination and run of show development.

Fundraising: You will be responsible for securing funds to support Mosaic Center initiatives.  The ideal candidate will be proficient in identifying prospective sponsors and speak to the benefits of partnering with the Mosaic Center, maintaining relationships with existing partners to discuss their needs and align them with our offerings, craft partnership proposals, maintain contact lists and follow up with partners to continue cultivating relationships.

Outreach and Advocacy: You will conduct outreach to secure new partners, drive awareness of Mosaic Center programming within college chapters and maintain communication with Mosaic Center alumni. 

You will provide expertise and education to the industry by advocating the Mosaic Center efforts to support a diverse workforce and developing multicultural pipelines. You will counsel AAF Corporate members, Ad Clubs and college chapters on the importance and impact of the Mosaic Center’s DEI initiatives.

Light travel is required for this position.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience; with relevant experience in program/event management, as well as a diversity related role or diversity consulting capacity.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills are required.
  • Takes initiative and works well independently.
  • Ability to provide Mosaic Center DEI support efforts in well-regarded companies; ability to work with our partners to gain their commitment and support.
  • Strong customer relations skills required in order to listen and address the needs of our constituents.
  • Solid interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of people daily in order to build relationships.
  • The ability to represent the Mosaic Center through public speaking engagements.
  • Relationships with universities, specifically HBCUs is a plus.
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience; MBA is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The American Advertising Federation offers a competitive salary and benefits program.  Starting salary for this full-time opportunity will be commensurate with the level of experience of the candidate. Our office is based in a downtown DC newly renovated office building with onsite fitness facility, parking garage, rooftop lounge and access to a variety of metro stations and common bus lines.

*This position is based in Washington DC and is temporarily remote due to COVID-19. However, for the right candidate, we would consider a making the position permanently remote if candidate lived outside the Metro DC area.
