FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Maryland Digital Ad Tax

Annapolis, MD, February 4, 2021
—AAF Maryland Leaders: We have learned that the vote in the House of Delegates to override Governor Hogan’s veto of the digital ad tax originally expected on February 8 has been pushed back to Thursday, February 11, with the possibility of further delays. We do not know if this is because our campaign to sustain the veto is having an effect or just because of the difficulties of the legislature operating in a pandemic.

What we do know is that this gives the advertising industry more time to contact lawmakers and tell them that the digital ad tax is a bad idea and urge them to vote against the motion to override the Governor’s veto.

Please continue to contact lawmakers and let them know the digital ad tax is bad for business, bad for consumers, and bad for Maryland. My earlier alert with talking points can be found here.
