Don Friesen to Appear as 2008 ADDY® Awards Master of Ceremonies

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Don Friesen, "one of the best up-and-coming comedians in the country," (New Orleans Times-Picayune) will join the American Advertising Federation as the master of ceremonies at this year's ADDY Awards on June 10, 2008. The ADDY Awards are the premier advertising awards show and will be held in conjunction with the AAF National Conference 2008 in Atlanta. The ceremony will feature the announcement of award winners, including the coveted ADDY Best of Show.

Said to be "one comedian you don't want to miss," (Reno Gazette-Journal) Friesen is the only ever two-time winner of the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition—the same competition that helped launch the careers of Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, Ellen DeGeneres and Sinbad. He has continued to impress audiences and critics alike with his nonstop touring schedule as one of the most sought-after headliners on the comedy scene today.

Friesen's chosen career came about unexpectedly, following brief stints as everything from busboy, security guard, cab driver, Rainbow Vacuum salesman and commercial real estate agent. As a college senior, earning his business degree at the University of Southern California (USC), Friesen elected to take an improvisation class and discovered that along with his passion for comedy, he also had an aptitude for it. His career has soared ever since.

The ADDY Awards are the advertising industry's largest competition, recognizing creative excellence and the very best advertising nationwide. The ADDY Awards gala will take place June 10, at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, during the AAF National Conference 2008. For ticket information, contact Lucille Hill at (202) 898-0089 or lhill@aaf.org. Complete conference information is available at www.aaf.org/conference.
