2005 USA TODAY & Mosaic Center Career Fair

USA TODAY Building
McLean, VA

On March 10, 2005, the AAF held its Mosaic Career Fair with USA TODAY.

This successful day consisted of over 231 students from all ethnic backgrounds. The feedback received from students was outstanding. Students took advantage of the opportunity to have their resumes critiqued, meet with recruiters from local and national ad agencies, media companies and clients as well as attend educational seminars to gain valuable information and tips to put their best foot forward. These seminars included:

  • Making an Impression: Dress for Success: allowed students to ensure they make the best possible first impression by gaining tips on what to do - and not to do - during this interactive session.
  • Making Yourself Marketable: Students gained tips on resume writing, job search resources, and how to research companies that you are most interested in joining.
  • Interview Skills: Students learned how to succeed in an interview during this hands on session.
  • USA Today Photo Gallery

During lunch students were greeted by Wally Snyder, AAF President and won 9 great prizes during the surprise drawing. They also had the opportunity to see the work in action with a panel that included the client Wayne Wielgus, Executive VP and Chief Marketing Officer for Choice Hotels International; the ad agency Diego Vaccarezza, Media Director for MPG-Arnold, Boston and USA TODAY Kathy Vu, Director of Mid Atlantic Advertising Sales at USA TODAY. This session was moderated by Tony Hill, VP of Enterprise Business Development and allowed the students to gain an inside look at the cooperation and interaction that exist to drive results.
